E-Passports And New Consular Fees Starting 17 May 2010 at Philippines Embassy

Please take notice that the Philippine Embassy will start accepting and issuing e-Passport applications beginning 17 May 2010 and will no longer issue machine-readable passports (MRP).

The new e-Passport will cost BD102.00 and will be compliant with world standards in travel documents. At present, e-Passports are already being used in more than 60 countries worldwide. In the ASEAN region, five countries (Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia) are already issuing e-Passports. In the future, all countries will be switching to e-Passports due to the need to enhance border security.
