The Life & Times of Jude McGyver
This is my short interview with Gyver Concon who had successfully been chosen to be in the Top 30 Contestants of Who's Got Talent Season 2.
1. How many years have you stayed in Brunei?
Ans: I’ve stayed in Brunei for around 16 Years.
2. Why did you decide to join Who's Got Talent Season 2 organized by B-Mobile?
Ans: I decided to join Who’s Got Talent Season 2 basically because I wanted to show Brunei (and hopefully the rest of the world) my talent that’s been the best gift I’ve ever had given from above.
3. Are you the only Filipino contestant in WGT Season 2?
Ans: There’s actually one more but I am apparently the only Pinoy singer (the other Pinoy dude is a very talented electric guitarist).
4. How do you feel after being chosen to be in the Top 30 Contestants?
Ans: I actually felt motivated and excited after being chosen because in the past few months, I was in a state where I was looking for a direction and opportunities to be in the entertainment industry. I had doubts creeping in my mind in those past few months but eventually this opportunity became open to me, so I auditioned and got accepted and that was a Godsend confirmation that I was born and meant to be in the music business.
5. When will be your next audition?
Ans: There was only 1 audition so I don’t think that I’ll be auditioning again but I’m scheduled to perform on one of these dates: Saturday, 1st May OR Sunday, 2nd May at the big amphitheatre in Jerudong (I’m still waiting for confirmation).
6. What is your chance of moving on to the next stage?
Ans: I know and I believe and I’ve got the absolute God-given assurance that I’ll be definitely 100% part of the Top 16 Finalists.
7. What will you do if you win the WGT Season 2?
Ans: When I win, I’m gonna be doing some recording and I hope and pray that a God-given opportunity will be opened to me when I win.
8. What do you want to say to those who are reading this blog?
Ans: I just want to say to those reading this blog that there is a reason for every person’s existence and a reason for every person’s talent and ability. I believe everyone on this planet has a unique special talent or ability that will help and enable to achieve their call in life (So don’t hide it but USE it!). AND ALSO PLEASE PLEASE VOTE FOR ME!!
9. Are you involved in any other talent competitions besides Who’s Got Talent?
Ans: YES, I am also involved in RTB Pilihan Talentime 2010 and I’m part of the top 5 non-Bruneian category.
For all B-Mobile subscribers who would like to vote for Gyver, please text WGT 8 and send to 38833
This is Gyver's audition video. Take a look and listen to this talented young man.

Why I Started This Blog?
I am more of a reader than a writer. It will take me at least 10 mins to write a paragraph as compared to 1 min of reading that paragraph. I am not sure whether you are the same person like me.
The reason why I started this blog is because of my friend, Edwin Serevo. Edwin had been working in Aryaduta, Brunei for many years. Other than working as a supervisor at Aryaduta, Edwin is also very active in basketball. He is actively involved in his church. Just recently on 22nd March, 2010, he was admitted to RIPAS after vomiting a lot of blood. He was diagnosed of lung cancer and had to go back to the Philippines for treatment. He was able to catch the flight to Manila with his co-worker, Kaka on Saturday (27th March). Since it was a full flight, his wife (Thess) and daughter (Anya) were unable to go on board and had to take the next flight back to Manila on next Monday (29th March). He is on Stage 3B Cancer and he had gone through the first Chemotherapy this week at Philippines General Hospital. Edwin had been losing a lot of weight and he needs to go through a lot of blood transfusion since his hemoglobin count is very very low.
There are many untold stories because there are no one to tell or write them. I believe there are many Filipinos who had contributed a lot to the Brunei community and I want to feature and highlight their lives no matter how famous or insignificant they are.
I will keep updating what is happening to Edwin while he is in the Philippines. His wife will be returning soon to Brunei since she needs to work and sustain Edwin for the medication cost. If you would like to extend some financial help to Edwin, you can text/sms Thess at +673-8179203.
I hope that this blog will be a source of encouragement and inspiration to all the Kababayans here in Brunei. If you would like to be featured in this blog, please send an email to bruneipinoy@gmail.com. Give me a brief introduction about yourself and what you do. Then I will schedule a time of interview with you. The only requirement is you must be a Pinoy.
